Pasadena’s Nonprofits

Pasadena Economic Development Corporation (PEDC) is a nonprofit, Type B Corporation under the Texas Development Corporation Act created in 1988. Along with donations, PEDC is funded and financed by a half-cent sales tax collected by the City of Pasadena. The goal of PEDC is to support and help local for-profit businesses thrive. Succeeding in this goal, Pasadena residents benefit by having local resources, economic stability, and vast close-to-home employment options. The City of Pasadena’s economy is then boosted by the recirculation of local dollars. Local businesses have the ability to expand, create multiple locations, or add land to their current locations.
